The Maryland lottery has its own regulations, which include selling tickets only to individuals over the age of 18. Minors are prohibited from purchasing lottery tickets. Also, lottery games must be sold at establishments that are licensed by the State Lottery and Gambling Control Board. There are two types of licensed establishments: the first is a “licensed gambling facility,” which includes casinos and licensed tribal casinos.
In order to be a licensed gambling facility, an organization must apply for a license. In the case of tribal casinos, the organization must prove it has a license from the Gaming Control Board.
